Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how ZestyClip ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at zestyclip.com (the "Service"). We are committed to handling your data with care and minimal collection.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not require accounts, sign-ups, or any login.
- We do not store the videos you download.
- We do not store the links you submit.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
2. Information We Process Temporarily
When you use the Service, our server temporarily processes:
- The submitted video URL — to fetch publicly available video data. The URL is held only in memory for the duration of the request and is not written to a database.
- Connection metadata — IP address, user agent, timestamp. The IP address is used only to derive a two-letter country code, and is then discarded; the user agent is used only to derive a device class (iPhone / Android / desktop) and browser family. Standard server access logs may retain raw IP and user agent for a short period (typically 7–30 days) for security and abuse prevention.
2a. Anonymous Usage Statistics
To monitor service health, detect abuse, and prioritise improvements, we keep aggregated, anonymous usage data. For each request we record:
- The country (derived from your IP address, which is then discarded).
- The device class (iPhone, Android, desktop) and browser family (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.).
- The platform of the link you submitted (Facebook or Instagram) — the link itself is never stored.
- The referring site — only the hostname (e.g.
facebook.com), never a full URL with path or query. - The outcome (success or error type) and how long the request took to process.
- For successful extracts: the number of available qualities and the top quality (e.g.
1080p). - For downloads: the total bytes streamed through our proxy.
We do not store IP addresses, the URLs you submit, video titles, video files, full user agents, cookies, or any fingerprint that could identify you across visits.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use:
- Local Storage (in your browser only) — to remember your last 5 processed videos so you can retry them. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it from the home page or by clearing your browser data.
- Google Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage patterns (pages visited, session duration, device type, country). Google Analytics sets cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*in your browser. This data is processed by Google under their own privacy policy. We do not use it to identify individual users.
ZestyClip does not set any other tracking or advertising cookies.
4. Third-Party Services
The Service connects to the following third-party services:
- Facebook and Instagram CDNs (Meta) — to deliver video content. Meta may receive your IP address as part of normal HTTP requests. See the Meta Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — to collect anonymous usage statistics. Google may use this data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
If we display advertising in the future (for example, via Google AdSense), the ad network may set its own cookies and collect information for ad personalization. We will update this policy before enabling any such service.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion.
- Object to or restrict processing.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Because we do not maintain user accounts and only retain access logs briefly, in most cases there is little personal data to request. To exercise any right, contact us via the Contact page.
7. Data Security
We use HTTPS to encrypt all traffic between your browser and our servers. We follow standard industry practices to protect server infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
8. International Transfers
Our servers may be located in jurisdictions different from your own. By using the Service you consent to your data being processed in those locations.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
