How to save a video to your iPhone Photos

Why not touch & hold the video? iOS Safari only supports "Save to Photos" from a long-press on images, not on HTML5 video. The Downloads-arrow path above is the reliable flow on every iOS version from iOS 13 through iOS 26 (the current release as of 2026). Apple's Safari redesign in iOS 26 ("Liquid Glass") restyled the Downloads popover but did not change the underlying steps.

iOS 18 only: if "Save Video" is missing when you share an mp4 from the Files app, use Safari's Downloads-arrow path above instead — that share menu always works. (Apple partially fixed this regression in iOS 18.2+.)
